Please note that Friday 13th November will be a non-uniform day throughout the school.
This is to raise funds for, and awareness of, the JDRF charity. This is a charity that funds research into curing, treating, and preventing Type 1 Diabetes and its complications.
Last year Thetford Grammar School was deeply saddened to hear of the death of one of their former students – Tommy Green – at the hands of Type 1 diabetes and so this fund-raising event is very much close to the heart of our community.
Both James Blackman and Mr Andrew Ward will be sharing with the school their experiences of living with Type 1 Diabetes and Charity Reps have planned a ‘Dab for Diabetes’ event as part of our ‘raising awareness’ event.
As well as this, we would like to make this non-uniform day more distinct by asking pupils and students to wear something blue for the occasion in order to reflect the logo of the JDRF.
