At TGS we aim to provide a curriculum that is appropriate to the needs and abilities of all of our children, teaching in a way that enables each child to reach the highest level of personal achievement and to flourish socially and emotionally.
Stretch & Challenge opportunities at TGS seek to nurture and develop individual talents and thus extend the learning potential of all pupils. Extension activities are provided via in-class differentiation in every subject and a Programme of Enrichment Opportunities is in place for every section of the school.
Look out for the CHaSe (Challenge and Stretch) boards in each department around the school, here you will find details of specific stretch and challenge activities, information about forthcoming visits and trips, inspirational books to seek out, general sources of information for further reading and possible ideas for projects. The main ChaSe board with information about extra-curricular activities, a regularly updated diary of out of school events, guidance about completion of a level 1 or level 2 Extended Project Qualification and much more.
CHaSe activities are open to all motivated students who have a particular interest in a topic and would like to investigate it in greater depth than the normal curriculum allows.
