At TGS we consider Careers guidance to be an essential aspect of life in the Sixth Form. This is especially true as our students are considering the many opportunities available to them in the world beyond school.
We aim to provide up to date careers information throughout Years 12 and 13, in a form that they will find easy to use. Individual appointments can be made with the careers coordinator and a dedicated resource area is open throughout the school day, stocking university prospectuses as well as publications detailing relevant information about a variety of careers and different routes of entry at age 18, such as Advanced Apprenticeships and company sponsored professional qualifications.
Students are actively encouraged and assisted to attend University Open Days as well as broadening their horizons by seeking to be involved in extra-curricula activities and relevant work experience. Our students have attended programmes such as the Norfolk & Norwich NHS medical experience weeks and an annual trip to Nottingham University, as well as taking part in a work experience opportunity in Denmark.
Whatever choices our students are making we will work together to help them reach positive decisions.
